West Hartford Public Meeting on Steele Road Apartment Complex Set for July 17

Project scaled back following complaints from residents.

An informational public meeting on a revised plan of a 200-unit apartment complex on Steele Road will be held July 17 at 6 p.m. in Room 400 of West Hartford Town Hall.

The plan has been revised after dozens of residents complained at a June 24 public meeting about the project's potential negative impact on area traffic and they also criticized the plan for being too dense, according to the Hartford Courant.

The revised plans reduce the number of units by 25 percent to 150, Director of Community Services Mark McGovern told the Hartford Courant.

The new plans will be presented by Farmington-based Metro Realty Group.
