West Hartford Resident Provides Keynote Address at 35th Annual Holocaust Commemoration at State Capitol

Sen. Beth Bye (D-West Hartford) poses with Ruth Fishman of West Hartford, who was the keynote speaker at 35th Annual State of Connecticut Holocaust Commemoration held Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Senate Chamber of the State Capitol in Hartford.

Fishman – a World War II survivor of the Westerbork detention camp in the Netherlands and the Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia – attended the event with her sons Peter and Toni and her grandsons Garrett and Ari.

The theme of this year's commemoration was "Never Again: Heeding the Warning Signs."
