West Hartford Teen Justina Pelletier, 15, May Be Coming Home Soon

Massachusetts court may rule within days

According to the Associated Press, Massachusetts child welfare officials have asked a state judge to return Justina to Connecticut. 

A Massachusetts judge had given that state full custody of Justina in March 2013 after their were dueling diagnosises and allegations of medical child abuse against Justina’s parents, the AP reports.

The Hartford Courant reports that Justina’s attorney says the case could be resolved within days. The attorney said the Pelletiers have fully complied with the state of Massachusetts request, but Justina’s father, says he remains cynical and will believe it when he sees it, the Courant reports. 

Pelletier told the Courant that Justina is "paralyzed below the hips," and is "mentally fading, she can barely talk.”

The family believes Justina suffers from mitochondrial disease, but other doctor’s though her symptoms were psychologically induced, the Courant reports.
