West Hartford to Hold Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Hazardous Waste Collection Day is scheduled for next Saturday, and is open to all MDC-serviced towns (Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield, and Windsor).

The MDC-sponsored Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will take place at the , 17 Brixton Street, on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The collection is free and is open to all MDC-serviced towns.

How does the collection work? It couldn't be easier. Collect your household waste in their original containers, place them in a box and bring them to the collection site on Sept. 15, and MDC will handle the rest.

What can you bring?  Many common materials found throughout your home are classified as hazardous. So look high and low. And if you don't intend to use it, bring it to the collection.
