Still Time to Enjoy Free Ice Skating in Bushnell Park!

As a Bronx Chick, it still strikes me as odd that the capital of our state is a mere 20 minutes away.  But as a West Hartford resident, I appreciate the range of activities (many of them free) that  the city of Hartford offers.

Skating in Bushnell Park is one of those activities. Until February 1, there is free ice skating in the Park, as part of the annual Winterfest, daily from 11AM til 8PM.

Last week I was there with about 25 Cultural Care au pairs who are staying with families in West Hartford. It was nice seeing the rink being used by so many families and everyone having a great time. Having the beautiful gold dome of the capital as a backdrop added to the skaters' enjoyment.

The rink is located near the corner of Trinity and Elm streets, next to the Pump House. During the weekends the Knights of Columbus have set up a little snack bar inside where you can warm up with some hot chocolate and baked goods. Enjoy it while you can!
