This was Jadyn’s first-time ever competing in the Nutmeg State Games. After practicing for several months, Jadyn competed in the 400 meter track and field division for her age group and came in first-place – taking home the gold medal. She went on to win bronze medals, taking third place in both the 200 meter track and field, and in the javelin throw competitions.
“We set the achievement bar high for SBS students. On a daily basis, it is our expectation that SBS students strive to do their best at all times. It’s evident that Jayden has taken that message to heart. We are very proud of her,” explained Saint Brigid School’s Principal Shevon Hickey.
“I’m not surprised at all that Jadyn won so many medals. She’s very competitive. Simply put, Jayden’s just amazing.” Although Saint Brigid’s Physical Education Teacher Frank Kordek was not Jadyen’s Nutmeg track coach, he is very supportive of her athletic pursuits. Coach Kordek continued, “This is something she committed herself too and as a result of her dedication and hard work - she won. Way to go Jayden!”
