Conard Student-Athletes Finalize College Plans

Becky Hoisl and Elle Fontanazza have excelled at multiple sports during their high school careers.

Two Conard High School student-athletes have finalized plans to continue their education while playing sports at the collegiate level.

Seniors Becky Hoisl and Elle Fontanazza, both standouts in multiple sports at Conard, have announced their future plans.

Hoisl will attend Catholic University in Washington, DC, where she will play softball and major in education. She was a three-sport athlete all four years at Conard and was one of the top-scorers on the girls soccer team, a co-captain of the girls basketball team with Fontanazza, and as shortstop on the softball team has been all-league and all-state. Hoisl was the first junior in the program's history to garnish all-state recogniztion when she was named to the Class LL team in 2012.

Fontanazza will attend Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, and will play basketball and study international businesss. She has been a two-sport athlete throughout her Conard years, playing softball in addition to basketball, and also played soccer as a freshman and sophomore. This year Fontanazza was the third-leading scorer in the CCC West, averaging 14.5 points per game, and was chosen all-league as a guard. She co-captained the girls basketball team with Hoisl.
