"I've always appreciated the Wolcott neighborhood and think the school has always been the centerpiece of the community," said Singh, who lives in the the Wolcott neighborhood with his wife.

Singh said that he is very excited to assume his new position. "They are definitely big shoes to fill, but I am looking forward to working with the staff and the community," he said.

Singh, who was previously a beloved science teacher at Sedgwick Middle School, has been interim assistant principal at Hall High School since October 3, when he replaced Tom Einhorn who was named interim principal due to Dr. Donald Slater's move to the Hartford Public Schools administration.

"He is solution and improvement focused and has a clear understanding of what students need to know, understand and be able to do for success in middle school and to graduate from high school. His energy has no bounds. Dr. Singh is eager to know children and families over the span of six years beginning when they enter kindergarten until they move on to middle school," List said in a news release.
