David Walker, former comptroller general of the United States and current president of the Bridgeport-based Comeback America Initiative (CAI), will speak on the topic “Comeback America: Saving the Middle Class.” Walker will discuss his belief that individuals and the government must become more fiscally responsible in order for the economy to recover. He will also talk about the debates over raising the debt ceiling that made headlines in 2011.
This event is jointly sponsored by Seabury Active Life Care Community and its Resident Action Groups: In Support of Democracy, The Earth Charter Group, and Action Forum in Bloomfield and the Mu Chi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi in the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford. Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. Its primary objective is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
