Why Go: The Morley Elementary School Improvement Council and PTO are presenting a parenting workshop series for Morley families in the Morley auditorium. This week's workshop is titled "How to Make Homework and Other Tasks Easier and Less of a Battle."

Breastfeeding Class at UConn Health Center

When/Where: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 3, in the Onyiuke dining room at the UConn Health Center, 263 Farmington Ave, Farmington.
Why Go: A breast-feeding class will be offered the first Thursday of the month. A certified lactation consultant leads a discussion of topics, including the benefits of breast-feeding, how to get started, and how the rest of the family can help the breast-feeding mother as  well as how to continue breast-feeding and working.  Call 800-535-6232 to register.

Beauty and the Beast

Why Go: Newington Children's Theatre Company puts on a performance of this classic show. The cast will be available to meet, greet and sign autographs for all guest after the show.
Pricing: $8 per ticket 

Autism Families CONNECTicut Family Swim

When/Where: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., each Saturday in March, starting March 5, at the pool at Avery Heights 705 New Britain Ave, Hartford.
Why Go: Autism Families CONNECTicut, the Majory Doty Aquatic Center at Avery Heights, and West Hartford's Human and Leisure Services' Special Needs Program are sponsoring this program for families of children living with autism to enjoy this modern pool facility on the campus of Avery Heights.
Pricing: $16 per person for all four sessions 

Maple Day

When/Where: 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, at the Stanley Whitman House, 37 High St, Farmington.
Why Go: Bret Hodorski will demonstrate how to make maple candies and "sugar on snow" and will talk about how to make maple jelly and maple butter.  Try your hand at maple crafts and activities and walk through the 1720 house to find out what Colonial folk did during the blustery days of March. Refreshments will be served.  No reservation necessary.
Pricing: $4 for museum members, $5 for nonmembers
