Hartford Children's Theatre Presents 'Class Clown'

Why Go: Hartford Children’s Theatre presents the world-premiere of "Class Clown," a new play by award-winning children’s book author Johanna Hurwitz. Adapted for the stage from Hurwitz's celebrated 1987 book of the same name, "Class Clown" is a warm and funny story about a boy who learns that there’s a time and place for everything – even humor.
Pricing: $18 for adults; $13 for students and seniors

Why Go: Presented by Autism Families CONNECTicut and the West Hartford Human and Leisure Services' Special Needs Program: An open gym event for children aged 4-12 with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Organized activities and time for free play, with a break for a snack (please bring your own; drinks provided). Groups are limited to 15 children.

Purim Play at Congregation Beth Israel

When/Where: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, March 20, at
Why Go: Congregation Beth Israel will stage “Bubbeh — The Bubbeh Challah Story,” an adaptation of the Broadway musical “Buddy — The Buddy Holly Story.” The cast includes Barbara Friedman, Steve Margolis, and Jeff Smith of West Hartford, Danielle Hoffman of Farmington, Fred FitzGerald of Newington, and Mitchell Cohen of Glastonbury. Rabbi Stephen Fuchs will be the narrator. A Purim carnival with food, attractions, and games will follow the play. Families are welcome.

Mandell JCC Family Purim Party

When/Where:  4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 20, at the
Why Go: The Mandell JCC is calling all princesses, pirates and Purim story characters for a fun-filled holiday party. Kids of all ages, their parents and grandparents will rhythmically recreate the Purim story with interactive, live drum circle entertainment by Musical IQ. Also featured will be a costume parade,  face-painting with Puttin’on the Ritz, bouncing on Boppers DJs inflatables and a kosher pasta dinner.
Pricing: $36 per family of four, $5 for each additional child and $7 for each additional adult.
