Sports Images: Hall Boys Lacrosse Fights a Tough Battle Against Daniel Hand

Sound defense and ground-ball domination not enough to overcome the offense threat of Daniel Hand-Madison.

Fresh off their 11-3 win over Tolland, the boys lacrosse team (3-4) showed that they would not be intimidated by the five game winning streak and the #15 state ranking of the (5-4) Tigers of Daniel Hand.

While the first quarter saw Daniel Hand take an early lead, it was the Warriors who answered back to take a 2-1 lead. Second quarter was not so favorable for Hall. Four unanswered goals gave the Tigers a 5-2 halftime lead.

Early in the third quarter, it was Daniel Hand struck twice to extend their lead to 7-2. Not giving up, Hall got 2 goals in a 20 second span from senior Connor Doherty to cut the Hand lead to three with 2:20 remaining in the quarter. Once again, it was the balanced offense of the Tigers that answered with two more goals in the final minute of the third quarter.
