Hall High School Graduates the Class of 2013

Storm clouds threatened, but rain drops did not fall Monday evening during the William Hall High School graduation ceremony for the Class of 2013.

"The storm clouds up there aren't just a metaphor," said Assistant Superintendent Thomas Moore as he addressed the assembled seniors and their families. "I hope you've learned in our school system that it's not the storms that come that matter. It's that we survive. And that after, we'll always have a sunny day."

Faculty speaker Lauren Drazen encouraged the class to not necessarily focus on wealth, but to also have a positive impact on others each and every day.  

"Our ultimate goal in life is happiness, which does not always correlate with wealth," she said. "Remember that no one plans on changing the world, but it happens every day with passion, courage and strength. Insist on changing your world every day."

And while the Hall High School Class of 2013 will forge on to create a new world, the class also announced to the audience that they will be burying a time capsule in the school's new garden to commemorate the community that shaped them into young adults. 

So far, the capsule contains a USB with some hit music, a TI-84 calculator, Uggs, a letter from Interim Principal Thomas Einhorn, a Class of 2013 tassel and a football uniform.

No word yet on the journeys the Class of 2013 will have traveled by the time the capsule is opened in 2043.
