Hall Students Participate in National Letter of Intent Signing Day

February 6 is one of the NCAA's official National Letter of Intent dates for students enrolling in college for 2013-2014.

Four Hall High School students participated in an official NCAA National Letter of Intent Signing and Media Day on Feb. 6.

According to West Hartford Athletic Director Betty Remigino-Knapp, the following Hall students, who are pictured from left to right, signed letters Wednesday:

David Abunaw: Will play soccer at the University of Hartford. David was All Conference and All State in soccer. David was also named MVP of the senior All Star bowl in soccer. He was captain of the Hall High School soccer team.

Hayley Mullins: Signed a Letter of Intent to play soccer at American University. Hayley was captain of the Hall soccer team and earned All Conference honors in soccer. Hayley also plays lacrosse and is the captain of Hall's team. Hayley has earned All Conference and All State honors in lacrosse.

Claire O'Brien: Signed a Letter of Intent to play soccer at Stonehill. Claire was the captain of the Hall soccer team and has earned All Conference honors in soccer. Claire is also a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams and has earned All Conference honors in both.

Tobi Lichtenstein: Committed to Wesleyan to play football. Tobi was captain of the Hall football team. Tobi is also a member of Hall's wrestling team.

National Letter of Intent Signing Day is held on the same predetermined dates throughout the country, for student-athletes committing to playing intercollegiate sports.

According to the NCAA website, "the NLI is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution

  • "A prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).
  • "The institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters)."
