Photo Gallery: Northwest Catholic Girls Soccer Tops Conard 4-1

Despite the sunny skies, grass fields throughout West Hartford were still too soggy for games on Wednesday afternoon. Rather than postponing the vs. girls soccer game yet another time (the original date was Sept. 23), organizers were able to move it to Conard's turf field.

And wearing their home colors, Northwest came out strong, with Annie Higgins scoring the first goal just seconds into the game.

Jess Fontaine, Michelle Medina, and Nicole Medina also scored for Northwest, as the Indians beat the Chieftains 4-1. Julia Galanto scored Conard's goal.

The teams will meet again on Oct. 20, at 3:45 p.m., at Conard's McKee Stadium.
