Power Outage Delays Opening at Hall High and Duffy Elementary Schools by Two Hours

As of 7 a.m., 13 percent of West Hartford is without power.

Assistant Superintendent of Schools Tom Moore announced Thursday morning that a two-hour delay is in effect for Hall High School and Duffy Elementary Schools only.

Power lines are down and power is out at at both schools this morning as a result of the high winds and heavy rain that affected the area overnight.

All affected families have been notified through the West Hartford Public School's Connect-ED automatic notification system.

No other West Hartford Schools have been impacted at this time. If power cannot be restored in time for Hall's 9:30 a.m. opening or Duffy's 10:35 opening, those affected will be notified.

As of 7:10 a.m., CL&P is reporting that 13 percent (3,673) of West Hartford customers are without power.

Hi Barbara, We are so sorry this happened. Last night we added 200 sites to our great new BetaRead More platform and we think that made our newsletter server go haywire. Our engineers are hard at work to fix this bug and we are hopeful that things will be much smoother on Thursday.
