Superintendent Prepares for Retirement

Dr. List addresses West Hartford families.

As her retirement approaches, Dr. Karen List, superintendent of West Hartford Schools, addresses students and their families in Connections, the newsletter of West Hartford Public Schools.

"We never really know what lies ahead," Dr. List writes, "but . . . if we have confidence in ourselves, faith in the future, and an abiding sense of hopefulness -- what actually is down the road is even better than anything we could have imagined."

Dr. List has worked as an educator for 38 years, and 32 of those have been spent in West Hartford.

“I am so excited to be entrusted with the most important asset this town has: its kids,” Moore said in an interview. “I love everything about West Hartford. This is my place.”

Moore succeeded as assistant superintendent by Andrew Morrow, as announced on April 1, 2014.
