Entire community came together on Friday morning to remember and honor the former student.

The entire community came together Friday morning on the back playground to plant a tree.

The tree was planted in honor of , who would have been a fifth-grader at Duffy this year. Connor died tragically in a rafting accident on the White River in Vermont on June 30.

In addition to the entire student body, all of Duffy's teachers and administrators, and even the crossing guards, attended the ceremony. Connor's parents, Mike and Valerie Sorensen, as well as his sisters, who are currently Duffy students, also attended the tree planting.
