West Hartford Public Schools Have One Hour Delayed Opening

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect, and snow has made roads in town and throughout the area very slippery.

The Superintendent's office has announced that all West Hartford Public Schools will open one hour late today, Thursday, Nov. 8.

High schools will begin the day at 8:30 a.m., middle schools at 9:00 a.m., and elementary schools will open at 9:35 a.m.

The snow that fell Wednesday and overnight from the nor'easter, now named Storm Athena, is expected to turn to rain later Thursday with high temperatures around 43°, according to AccuWeather.com. Light snow continued to fall early Thursday morning, and a winter weather advisory is forecast to remain in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday.
