West Hartford Student Graduates After Coach Saves His Life

A West Hartford student graduated high school this week in a ceremony held at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

The teen, Marlon Terrones, a soccer player at Hall High School, is lucky to be alive — thanks to some quick action b Scott McDonald, a volleyball coach at Kingswood Oxford who happened to be nearby when the teen collapsed while running laps at the school's track on June 10.

Terrones suffered a cardiac episode and McDonald administered CPR until emergency medical crews arrived, according to The Hartford Courant.

The teen continues to recuperate at St. Francis and when he was unable to attend Hall's graduation this week, Principal Dan Zittoun and Hall High School Counselor Stephen Boyle delivered his diploma and cap and gown to his hospital room.
