West Hartford Students Dance in Flash Mob For Retiring Principal

But that's not all — they combined groovin' with giving back to the community.

Sure, you can give a retiring principal a gift card to the local coffee shop or a bouquet of flowers.

But these West Hartford elementary school students had something more grand in mind —  a flash mob. They decided to combine groovin' with giving back and chose Backpack Brigade Day as the day to dance.

Backpack Brigade is marked by Morley Elementary School students filling their backpacks with school supplies and walking to Town Hall, the Hartford Courant reports. The supplies are donated to the town's Human and Leisure Services Department.

Morley's principal, Ellen Stokoe, was giving a speech when her students broke out in song and dance to "Be True to Your School," according to the Hartford Courant.

Check out The Hartford Courant article for more info on the students' gift to the community and Stokoe.
