The Society of Women Engineers met with Smith STEM girls for an engineering discovery day!

Girls in grades 3 - 5 at Smith STEM School met with local female engineers from The Society of Women Engineers, Hartford section for a morning of engineering activities.

On Sunday March 10, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m girls in grades 3 - 5 at Smith STEM School came to school to meet local female engineers from The Society of Women Engineers, Hartford section. As a STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Math) School we provide our students with experiences both in and out of the classroom that foster their curiosity and interest in STEM related fields. In this session students explored hands-on engineering projects and heard first-hand what engineers do on a daily basis as they learn how the work of engineers impacts our world.
