Conard vs. Hall Girls Lacrosse Game Day Includes Clinic, Fundraiser

Saturday's game between West Hartford cross-town rivals included a healthy snack food drive, and was preceded by a clinic for youth players.

Hall girls lacrosse coach Steve Boyle and Conard girls lacrosse coach Megan Cersosimo wanted to have a chance to play both home and away games against each other this year, even though only one of the contests would officially count toward the teams' conference records.

The coaches decided to combine the extra game, which does not count in their conference standings, with a clinic for youth players, as well as a fundraiser for a local non-profit.

On Saturday morning, players from both West Hartford high schools met at Conard and hosted West Hartford Girls Youth Lacrosse teams in a 75-minute clinic – the "cost" of which was a healthy snack donation for the Community Mental Health Affiliates (CMHA) Child & Family Services Extended Day and Intensive Outpatient afterschool programs.

Many of the youth players remained to cheer on their favorite team in the 10 a.m. game, and were joined in the stands on a sunny Saturday morning by parents and other fans.

Hall won the game, 7-3.
