Beth El Temple Men’s Club Offers Super Sunday Fun Day: Breakfast with Joel Samberg, Miniature Golf Outing

The Beth El Temple Men’s Club invites all to join in breakfast with Joel Samberg, who will present on “Comedy, Melodrama, Farce & Horror: The Life of an Often-Jewish Writer” at Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, from 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Joel Samberg, a journalist, author and playwright who has written on many Jewish topics, will share some of the intriguing and illuminating stories of his life as a writer. His non- fiction books include “Reel Jewish: A Century of Jewish Movies” and “Grandpa Had a Long One: Personal Notes on the Life, Career & Legacy of Benny Bell.” Samberg’s grandfather, the novelty entertainer Benny Bell, wrote and recorded many songs, in both English and Yiddish, including “Shaving Cream” which was a hit in both 1946 and 1975.  The cost is $7 for non-Men’s Club members, no charge for Men’s Club members. 

Breakfast is followed by an afternoon of Miniature Golf at 12 noon at Farmington Miniature Golf 1048 Farmington Ave., Route 4 Farmington.  The Beth El Temple Men’s Club is calling all Fathers, Grandfathers and Children to participate in a Miniature Golf Outing at Farmington Miniature Golf!  The afternoon begins with lunch at noon, includes an afternoon miniature golf, fun contests with exciting prizes, and concludes with soft serve ice cream.
