Micaela Connery, Founder of Unified Theater

About Unified Theater...Unified Theater dissolves typical barriers between youth with and without disabilities through transformative arts experiences. We teach students to respect, value, and embrace all people regardless of ability, interest, background, or lifestyle - a perspective they carry into adulthood that helps them bridge differences throughout their lives. To date, Unified Theater has served 3,000 students in 35 middle and high schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Oregon, and California. School districts across 18 states have asked for support in bringing Unified Theater to their community. 
 About  Micaela... 
Founded Unified Theater at the age of 15 while a student at Conard High School. She serves as a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum. She’s been invited to share her insights about inclusion, youth leadership, and social entrepreneurship in venues across the globe. Micaela presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. She keynoted the National Conference on Inclusion and National Collegiate Leadership Conference. In 2010, Micaela was named one of the top-five young leaders by DoSomething on a nationally televised VH1 awards show. She was a Gloria T. A. Barron Young Hero and a West Hartford Connecticut Citizen of the Arts.  Micaela is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
