Jamie's Run - 5K, Charity Walk, Kids' Fun Run

Join us for the second annual running of the JK 5K!  Participants are encouraged to run the 5K or walk the 3K course.  Over 700 participated in the inaugural JK 5K in 2010.  The 5K run is an official race and the course is USA Track & Field sanctioned and certified.  Families will enjoy a pre and post-race celebration with refreshments, kid's activities, and the WDRC Monaco Ford Transit Connect with music, giveaways & games.  The picturesque course starts and ends at Cove Park.  The course runs through the quaint village of Old Wethersfield, passing historic homes, churches, and businesses.

Strength, vibrancy, smiles, and unwavering love.  This event celebrates the life of Jamie Lynne Knotts who died in January 2010 of a rare type of liver tumor at the age of 5 ½ months.  She is our angel.  This race not only honors Jamie, but also the doctors, nurses, and staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center who are living angels to the children and families who are currently struggling with cancer and blood disorders.  The proceeds of the race will help fund the clinical trials program, child life in hematology/oncology, and the family assistance fund, continuing our quest to build a cure and ease the financial and emotional burdens of children and families fighting these terrible diseases.
