Northwest Catholic Alum Signs With Pittsburgh Steelers

Mike Golic Jr. is a 2008 graduate of Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford.

A former Northwest Catholic High School football player and son of an ESPN personality has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mike Golic Jr. will attend a three-day Steelers rookie camp beginning this Friday, according to a post on West Hartford Patch by Northwest Catholic.

Golic, a 2008 NWC graduate and former offensive lineman at Notre Dame, was signed Saturday as an undrafted rookie free agent following the conclusion of the 2013 NFL draft. He is the son of Avon resident Mike Golic, an ESPN personality who is also a Notre Dame graduate and former NFL player.

"Very excited and honored for the opportunity to be a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Ready to get to work! @steelers" tweeted Mike Golic Jr. after he signed with the Steelers on Saturday.
