Rockledge Golf Course Opens for the Season

West Hartford's award-winning public golf course is running spring specials for residents and non-residents.

Spring weather has finally made an appearance and along with it, Rockledge Golf Club has opened for the season.

West Hartford Town Manager Ron Van Winkle informed the Town Council on Thursday night that the course had opened that morning. He said that he had jokingly told recently-appointed Director of Human and Leisure Services Helen Rubino-Turco that her predecessor always got the golf course open before Easter. After a tough winter, and because Easter is so early, Van Winkle did not expect that to happen this year.

"Sure enough, the golf course opened this morning," he said on Thursday. There were 25 golfers ready and waiting to play, Van Winkle said.
