Three Northwest Catholic Baseball Players Sign Letters of Intent

John Arel, Taylor Luciani and Dylan Robinson will play for NCAA Division I teams next year.

Three Northwest Catholic baseball players signed letters of intent Wednesday to compete on NCAA Division I collegiate teams. 

John Arel will play at the University of Maine, Taylor Luciani will play at Quinnipiac University and Dylan Robinson will play for the University of Massachusetts.

The son of Stephen and Laurie Arel of Burlington, John Arel has been a member of the baseball team since his freshman year. As a pitcher in 2013, John had an ERA of 0.86 in nearly 60 innings and was named All-Conference. He also was given an honorable mention as part of the Hartford Courant’s All-Courant baseball team in the spring of 2013. John has also played hockey and football at Northwest Catholic.

Taylor Luciani, the son of Anthony and Tracey Luciani of Kensington, joined the baseball team his sophomore year. As a first baseman in 2013, he was responsible for 157 putouts and was named to the All-Academic team. He has also been a member of the Northwest Catholic indoor track team. As a member of the Berlin American Legion team over the summer, Taylor pitched more than 47 innings, earning 5 wins and one save, with an ERA of 0.059 and 49 strikeouts over 11 games.

The son of William and Christine Robinson, Dylan Robinson has been part of the baseball program since his freshman year. In his junior year, Dylan had 25 hits and 17 RBIs, with a .347 batting average. As a center fielder, he also recorded 28 outs. He has been named All-Academic twice in baseball, and has also been a member of the Northwest Catholic indoor track and football teams.
