West Hartford Athletes on Campus: O'Brien Assists on a Goal for Fairfield

Megan O’Brien (Hall ‘11), a junior on the Fairfield University women’s soccer team, had an assist in the Stags’ 4-0 victory over St. Peter’s on Sept. 25. O’Brien, a defender, has started nine of Fairfield’s 10 matches and has also tallied a goal. Teammate Emily Wieczorek (Hall ‘12) has also appeared in seven games for the Stags, who are 6-4 on the year. … Michaela Celella (Conard High ‘12), a sophomore on the Wesleyan University field hockey team, scored a goal in the Cardinals’ 4-3 victory over Hamilton College on Sept. 28. Wesleyan is 3-4 on the year, and Celella has appeared in all 7 matches. … James Ames (Conard High ‘12), a sophomore forward on the Mount Ida College men’s soccer team, has started two games for the Mustangs (4-4-1). … Dominique Spaulding (Conard High ‘12), a sophomore defensive lineman on the Mount Ida College football team, is off to a good start this year. He is fourth on the team with 16 tackles in three games and has the Mustangs’ only sack on the year. Mount Ida is 1-2 on the year. … Adam Glynn (Hall High ‘12), a sophomore defensive back on the Western New England College football team, has 13 tackles in two games for the Golden Bears. He ranks fifth on the team in tackles. ... Claire O’Brien (Hall High ‘13), a freshman defender on the Stonehill College women’s soccer team, has started all 9 games for the 3-4-2 Skyhawks. … Becca Scalise (Hall High ‘12), a sophomore defender on the Southern Connecticut State University women’s soccer team, has played in all 8 of the Owls’ matches. … Conor Scalise (Hall High ‘12), a sophomore midfielder on the Western Connecticut State University men’s soccer team, has one assist in eight appearances for the Colonials (2-6-1) … Kylie Hoeng (Conard High ‘12) is a sophomore midfielder on the University of Hartford women’s soccer team. … Becca Lewis (Hall High ‘10), a senior goalkeeper on the Ithaca College women’s soccer team, has appeared in three games for the 8-1 Bombers. …  Christian Bohn (Hall High ‘12), a sophomore on the Endicott College football team, has appeared in all three of the Gulls’ games, recording one tackle. … Jon Esposito (Conard High ‘11) is a junior running back on the Princeton football team. He’s had one carry for four yards in two games this year. … Andrew Bertini (Conard High ‘13) is a freshman on  the Bentley University men’s cross country team.
