Bridge Family Center Receives Grant from Liberty Bank Foundation

Liberty Bank Foundation presents grant to The Bridge Family Center for Parent Leadership Training Institute.

The Liberty Bank Foundation recently presented The Bridge Family Center received $5,000 to support Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) programming in West Hartford.  PLTI is a 20-week course designed to help parents better understand how their local schools and governments operate and become more active and engaged citizens, as well as more effective advocates for their children.

“We are very grateful for the Liberty Bank Foundation’s generous support of PLTI,” said Margaret A. Hann, Executive Director of the Bridge.  “This program will teach parents who want to improve the lifelong health, safety, and learning of children how to become practiced change agents for the next generation.  Through PLTI, they will become better parents, community leaders, and learn how to advocate effectively for the best interests of all children.”

Based in West Hartford, the Bridge Family Center is a regional nonprofit agency that provides a broad range of services for children and families throughout the Greater Hartford area.  Founded in 1969, the Bridge offers a safe haven for children and families in crisis as well as positive, healthy intervention and prevention programs.  Its mission is to foster the courage and strength in children and families to meet life’s challenges and build fulfilling lives.  The Bridge is recognized as a leader in bringing the community together to assess issues and needs, and plans, coordinates, delivers and evaluates services in a cost-effective manner.
