Shouldn't it be 27 victims of Sandy Hook?

The key number that is used for all Sandy Hook anti-gun rhetoric is 26. This number is the total of innocents whose lives were taken by the madman, Adam Lanza, so we are told.

Since the gun controllers wish to stop all gun violence by honoring the victims thereof (except for the daily victims in the inner cities killed by urbanite gang-bangers and other assorted scum), why don't they include Nancy Lanza in their numbered victims? She was the first innocent person killed by her own son on that horrific Friday morning in 2012. Yet, for some reason, her name and her life is not counted among the victims of gun violence, so readily pushed onto us all by the anti-gun crowd.

Nancy Lanza was innocent. She was sleeping when her insane son shot her to death. She is truly the first victim of Sandy Hook. To ignore her death, or to dismiss it so glibly, is saying that she somehow deserved to die. According to the life-affirming message of the gun control crowd who use Sandy Hook as their platform, Adam Lanza deserved to die. And apparently so did his mother.

I wholeheartedly disagree.

It is 27 innocent victims of Sandy Hook. Not just the 26.
