Last Sunday's rainy weather was not a deterrent to dogs or their owners who marched through West Hartford Center in support of "Bark for Life."
Bark for Life was another one of the innovative fundraising efforts of Relay for Life West Hartford, which also hosted a in Blue Back Square last week.
Families and their dogs urged supporters to "Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back" in the event held on May 15 at in West Hartford Center. All partcipating canines were awarded $25 gift certificates courtesy of . The coveted grand prize of "Best in Show" was awarded to Casey who also received a $100 gift certificate to Russell Speeders Car Wash, which should help his owners remove those muddy paw prints.
Many of the participants were cancer survivors, or had relatives who had struggled with the disease. All came to support the efforts of West Hartford's Relay for Life. This event, sponsored by and Hometown Marketing, netted nearly $1,200.
