West Hartford Food Pantry Is in Need of Food

Department of Human Services is reminding residents that, "Hunger doesn't take a vacation!"

During the holidays and winter months, the Town That Cares Fund receives many generous donations. However, as the months get warmer and summer activities are planned, our donations dwindle and our shelves become empty.

To help replenish the stock that continues to deplete over the summer, consider planning a neighborhood food drive, dropping off a bag of groceries in the lobby of Town Hall, or making a financial donation to The Town That Cares-West Hartford Food Pantry.

The non-perishable items we are in urgent need of are: tuna and other canned fishes like salmon, sardines, mackerel, canned fruit, rice, dried beans, canned vegetables, canned meats like spam, ham, stew, peanut butter, jelly, honey, flour, sugar, coffee, tea, cooking oil, pancake mix and syrup, raisins, crackers, mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup.

Financial donations can be made out to The Town That Cares and sent to: The Town That Cares, 50 South Main St. Room 306, West Hartford, CT 06107

Before you leave this summer on vacation remember, “HUNGER DOESN’T TAKE A VACATION,” so please consider a food or monetary donation to the pantry before you leave.
