Inmates Artwork on Display at University of Hartford

The Prison Arts Show will feature work from inmates in eighteen of Connecticut's correctional facilities.

The Prison Arts Program opened its Annual Art Show on Thursday at the University of Hartford's Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery. The Show will feature work from individuals incarcerated in eighteen of Connecticut's correctional facilities.

The Community Partners in Action's Prison Arts Program provides classes and projects, as well as publication and exhibition opportunities to people incarcerated in correctional facilities around the state.

The Prison Arts Program, established in 1978, teaches artistic skills, helps inmates to develop more workable modes of communication, and provides inmates with guidance through self-realization.
