Veterans Day Thank You, West Hartford Sports Sked, Town Council Meeting

Here are five things coming up in the week ahead.

Good morning, West Hartford! Today is Monday, Nov. 11, 2013; there are 50 days left in the year.

Today is Veterans Day. I don’t have an awful lot to say here other than if you see a veteran, please thank him or her for his or her service.

1. On that note, Retired U.S. Army Col. Dr. Rolf Knoll will be the keynote speaker for the 2013 Veterans Day Ceremony at the Connecticut Veterans Memorial in West Hartford on Monday at 11 a.m. The event will also include speeches by Moe Fradette of the American Legion, Deacon James Hickey, Mayor Scott Slifka, Minority Leader Denise Hall and State Rep. Brian Becker. The King Philip Singers will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and Peter Roe will perform “Taps.”
