West Hartford Food Pantry in Need of Food

The West Hartford Food Pantry relies soley on donations from the community. During the winter months and holiday season we received many generous donations. Although we are thankful for the warm weather, with it comes dwindling stock and empty shelves. We may be getting ready for summer fun, but hunger doesn’t take a vacation. You can help by donating groceries, organizing a neighborhood food drive or making a financial donation to the West Hartford Food Pantry.  At this time we are in urgent need of the following items:

  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Canned Fruit
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Baked Beans
  • Canned Spaghetti O's/Ravioli
  • Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
Right now we are fully stocked with canned green vegetables and canned beans (kidney, black beans, etc) but desperately need the above items to provide a full grocery bag. It is helpful to receive “normal” sized goods instead of “family” sizes so that we can distribute a variety of items to each family. Please note that we cannot accept expired foods.  Food donations can be dropped off in the lobby of Town Hall by the information desk Monday-Friday. Financial donations may be sent to: The Town That Cares-Food Pantry, 50 South Main St. Room 306, West Hartford, CT 06107. If you have any questions or would like some information on organizing a food drive, please contact Alicia Hey at alicia.hey@westhartford.org or 860-561-7569. Thank you for your help!
