Venora then got two insurance runs in the 6th on a leadoff walk from Eli Salomons and a two run opposite field home run from his brother Gabe.  Wolmer finished off the game for Venora with a perfect 1-2-3 inning that included two groundouts to him and a strikeout to end the game.

Venora Electric 18 Blue Back Dental 12

In a wild, wet, crazy game under the lights Blue Back Dental and Venora Electric slugged it out for six innings before Venora pulled ahead for good in the final two innings.  Poor field conditions made it difficult for fielders and pitchers in this one as the teams combined for 20 hits and 19 walks.  BBD's Matt Lazor and Venora's Chase Rancourt dueled early each allowing just two runs over two innings for a 2-2 score.  The bats heated up in the 3rd as BBD took a 4-2 lead and then Venora took a 7-4 lead.  BBD then scored the maximum six runs in the 4th to go up 10-7, but Venora matched them in the bottom of the inning with six runs take the lead back 13-10.  BBD narrowed the gap in the 5th to 13-12, but Venora put the game away in the bottom of the 5th with five more runs for an 18-12 lead.  Brandon Wolmer slammed the door in the 6th retiring BBD in order.

Venora's offense was led by Jack Kennedy (3 for 4, 2 runs, 6 SB's), Gabe Salomons (2 for 2, 3 runs, 5 SB's), Chase Rancourt (2 for 3, 3 runs, RBI), Wolmer (1 for 1, 3 BB's, HR, RBI), Zander Boehm (2 for 4, 2 runs, 4 RBI's), and Cohl D'Addabbo (2 for 2, 3 runs, 4 SB's, RBI).  BBD's offense was led by Matt Lazor (2 for 2, 2 runs, 2 BB's), Josh Castro (double), Matt Cashman (2 for 3, 2 runs), Owen McGoldrick (single, run), Braden Chelli (walk, run), Joseph Shuey (2 BB's, run) and Matt Fitzsimonds (single, run).  Kennedy made a great defensive play for Venora at 3B to end a BBD rally.  Catchers Wolmer and Eli Salomons for Venora and Castro for BBD deserve special mention for their great play in terrible conditions.

Connor’s Insurance staged a late rally to climb out of a 5-0 hole and notch their 3rd victory of the season with a win over Berry Insurance Saturday night under the lights at Wolcott Park.

Berry jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Drew Wendorff homered down the leftfield line following a Griffin Van Rye single.

Berry plated 3 more runs in the bottom of the second to push the lead to 5-0.  Brian Namnoun and Aidan Aube walked and both scored on a groundout by Trevor Dease and a single by Noah Matalon.  Matalon scored as well on a single from Christian Pedro.

Connor’s added 5 more runs in the top of the 6th to stretch the lead to 10-5.  Timmy Andrews led off with a walk and Gingold was hit by a pitch.  Volpe then came through in the clutch with a 2 rbi single.  Borg followed with another single and Bevilacqua reached on an error to score 2 more runs.  Tanner delivered the final run with a single.

Tanner, who took the mound in the 3rd inning shut down the big Berry bats for 3 plus innings, striking out 3 and keeping his team in the game.  Berry would mount a comeback in the bottom of the 6th off a tiring Tanner.  Nathaniel Gonzalez led off the inning with a no doubt HR to left field and then Sam Musto walked and eventually came around to score.  Gingold entered to close out the game for Connor’s and recorded 3 straight strikeouts for the save.

BBD's Matthew Lazar, Michael Costello and Jay Falvey each pitched two solid innings (2) to lead Blue Back Dental over Berry Insurance at Wolcott Park by a score 15-6. Both teams played very well in a spirited game this Sunday. For Berry, Brian Mamnoum and Grerry, Griffin Van Nye played outstanding, with two hits from Brian and excellent two innings pitched by the lanky Griffin Van Nye. For Blue Back Dental, Jay Falvey's towering grand slam home run into Wolcott's infested alligator lake sparked BBD's hit barrage and was voted the game's MVP ! For Falvey, it was his second home run for the year.

Venora Electric 7 Connors Insurance 3

In a well played game, Venora got strong pitching and timely hitting and held off a late rally to beat Connors 7-3.  Venora came out swinging with three runs in the 1st behind an RBI single from Gabe Salomons and an RBI double from Chase Rancourt.  Rancourt was dominant on the mound with two shutout innings and 5 K's.  Venora tacked on two more in the 3rd on a leadoff single from Jack Kennedy and a two run home run from Rancourt for a 5-0 lead.  Sam Borg pitched well for Connors and Connors played strong defense the rest of the game allowing just single runs in the 5th and 6th.  The Connors bats came alive in the 5th and 6th scoring two runs in the 5th and one run in the 6th.  In the 5th, Matthew Glassman blasted a double to the fence, Timmy Andrews reached on a hard hit ball to 2B, and Andrew Gingold hit an RBI single to the fence.  Venora's defense stiffened for the next batter as they got a key double play to prevent a bigger rally.  In the 6th, Patrick McGann walked and scored on a Glassman single to make it 7-3, but Brandon Wolmer got Andrews to end the game on a nice play by Cohl D'Addabbo at 1B.

Venora's offense was led by Kennedy (1 for 3, 2 runs, 4 SB's), Salomons (1 for 3, RBI, run), Rancourt (2 for 3, double, home run, 2 RBI's, 2 runs), Liam Langan (double), Zander Boehm (single, run), and D'Addabbo (walk, 2 SB's, run).  Connors's offense was led by Glassman (2 for 3, single, double, run, RBI), Andrews (0 for 2, run, 2 BB's), Gingold (2 for 3), Harrison Sweeney (2 for 3), and Michael Bevilacqua (single).  Venora's defense was led by strong pitching from Rancourt and Salomons who pitched 4 scoreless innings.  Connors defense was led by Gingold at SS and Andrews at C.  Glassman (2 IP, 4 K's) and Borg (4 IP, 3 K's) pitched well.

A.C. Petersen Farms Restaurant 5 Mr. Trophy 1

After being shut out for 4 innings, AC Petersen Farms finally broke through for 5 runs in the fifth inning to defeat Mr. Trophy 5-1 at Wolcott Park on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.  Mr. Trophy pitchers Bailey Nemirow (2 IP, 0 hits, 0 runs, 4 Ks) and Mateo Maturana (2 IP, 0 runs, 2 Ks) made quick work of the ACP batters through the first four frames.  Fortunately for ACP, their pitchers Robert Schunder (2IP, 0 runs, 1 K) and Carl Nicklas (2 IP, 1 run, 3 Ks) were almost as sharp keeping ACP in the game.  Mr. Trophy did squeeze one run out in the third on a 2-out RBI double from Brady Tober (2-3, 2B, 1 RBI).

The big fifth inning for ACP began with a walk to Dylan Heinen (1-2, 1 RBI), however the next two batters were retired.  Yet, as was the case for ACP in Saturday's game against Cornelius, ACP hitters thrived with two outs.  Peter Simplico (2-4, 1 run, 1 RBI) had a huge RBI single to tie the game at one.  That was followed by RBI hits from Connor Skarzynski (2-4 1 run, 1 RBI), Schunder (1-2, 1 run, 1 RBI) and Heinen.  In total, 5 runners crossed the plate in the frame to give ACP the lead.  Over the two weekend games, ACP scored a total of 17 runs with two outs.  The big five spot was more than enough for Simplico who came on and closed the game over two nearly flawless frames.  In the bottom of the sixth, Simplicio was aided by his defense starting with shortstop Drew Seidman who went to his knees to haul in a smash off the bat of Brady Tober  and throw across the diamond to get the runner, aided by a terrific short-hop scoop from first basemen Schunder on the low throw.  Despite the excitement of that play, it wasn't even Seidman's best of the inning.  Three batters later, Seidman raced back on a dying line drive in short left field and leapt in the air to haul in the final out and ensure the ACP win.

Beachland Tavern 17 Pepe’s Pizza 9

Beachland Tavern and Pepe's Pizza lit up the scoreboard on Sunday as they combined for 26 runs. In the end, Beachland won the offensive battle 17-9 in six innings.

The teams totaled 23 hits, including six extra base hits in the game.

Pepe’s came out fired up and ready to prove their ‘mercy’ 4 inning loss at the hands of the Bandit was a fluke and they did just that putting up three in the first. The Bandits, coming off their 9-8 loss to Goldberg’s the day prior (in the battle of the unbeatens) looked flat. And with loud party music pouring over the field, the Bandits needed to bear down and focus.

And they did just that. Tavern punched right back in the bottom half and got things rolling with RBI single by Declan McCann (1-3, 2 RBI, 3R), an RBI knock by Ryan Murphy (3-3, 5 RBI, 2 R), and a groundout by Chuck Blanchard (2-3, 1 RBI, R) during the first inning. In the second, the ‘Czar’Victor Brancieri (1-1, 2 RBI, R) supplied the early offense with a two-RBI hit for Beachland.

Pepe's got off the mat and counter-punched yet again. Led by big-man Matt Gelinas, who went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Griffin Paulus chipped in as well for the pie-makers and went 2-for-3 with a double, while Ryan Roller added a double of his own. Demarre Joseph reached base on both of his plate appearances, including a whopping triple that drove in two. Five runs in the top of the fourth helped Pepe's Pizza close its deficit to 9-8.

However, the gritty robbers would not be nabbed today. Answer the Bandits did, by lighting up the scoreboard like a Christmas Tree for 5 in the fourth. Tavern scored on a steal of home by ‘Big Game’ James O’Connor, a walk by Declan, and a three-run triple by Ryno. Murphy racked up five RBIs on three hits for Beachland Tavern, including the bases loaded triple. Offensive stars Matt Santoro (2-2, 3R), Shane ‘the Hammer’ Bradley (2-3, R, RBI), and Mason ‘Shabam’ Chabot (2-2, R) provided added electricity for the masked ones.

Staked with a lead the Hammer came in to squash any thoughts of a comeback. Bradley K’d four over the final two frames and received great support from his mates in the field. Santoro and Andrew Reicher flashed the glove often in the 6th to lock down the win. Reicher ended that game in dramatic fashion with a diving grab in right, leaping over two teammates to haul in the final out.

Harry's offense was led by Schultz (1 for 1, double, walk, run), Ittleson (1 for 2, run, 2 RBI's), Archambeault (1 for 2, run), Anthony Mangini (1 for 2, 2 runs, 2 RBI's), Redmond (2 for 3, run), Langevin (1 for 2, run), Nathan Gallo (1 for 2, 2 runs), and Jack Gustafson (2 for 2, 2 runs). Pinkberry's offense was led by singles from Ethan Tiffany, Ryan Smith, Michael Mancini, and Luke Bronson.  Tiffany, Mac Louis, and Adrian Brigantty scored for Pinkberry. Harry's three pitchers: Redmond, Mangini, and Langevin pitched great and Langevin was the defensive star at catcher and shortstop.  Pinkberry's pitchers were Fortuna, Louis, Bronson, and Tiffany.

In the bottom of the 4th inning, Goldberg's erupted for 5 runs when Jack Kane was hit by a pitch followed by singles from Cody Brew, Tucker Redden, Nick Kane and Jake Samela who had a great at bat after working the count to 3-2 and Matt Gainey. Goldberg's took a 6-5 lead at the end of 4 innings. In the top of the fifth inning Joey's scored two runs with no outs. Goldberg's Tommy Cancian came on in relief of Matt Shiffman and stuck out 3 batters while leaving two other runners stranded to limit Joey's lead to 7-6. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Goldberg's responded with a run of their own when Tommy Cancian led off with a double and scored on a single by Danny Gallagher to tie the score at  7-7. Neither team was able to score in the sixth inning although Goldberg's did have an opportunity in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs and Jack Kane on second base, Cody Brew hit a hard shot which Joey's pitcher Cooper Silver scooped up and raced to first base for the unassisted third out enabling the score to remain tied and sending the game into extra innings.

Goldberg's gave up only a walk in the top of the seventh inning. Although Goldberg's had a single by Nick Kane and a walk to Jake Samela with one out in the bottom of the seventh, the game ended with two fine defensive plays by Joey's which enabled the game to end in a tie.

Joey's got an outstanding pitching performance from Kyle Barnum and he also had two hits. Fine defensive pays were turned in by Cooper Silver and Easton Swift.

Goldberg's offensive stars were Cody Brew, Tucker Redden and Tom Cancian all with 2 hits along with Nick Kane, Jake Samela, Matt Shiffman, Matt Gainey and Danny Gallagher all contributing single hits. Ben Reimer played well defensively for Goldberg's.

Dick’s Sporting Goods 15 Effie’s Place 13

The Dick's Sporting Goods Hooks staged a nice comeback in a back and forth game with Effie's to secure its 2nd win of the season. Dick's scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th and then held off Effie's bats in the top of the 6th to close out the game.

Dick's pitchers (Jack G, Carter M., Quinn N., Adam E, and Aaron S) all pitched well.  Effie's also used several of pitchers to try to hold off Dick's.
