Andrew Skwiot took the mound as the starting pitcher for Keating Insurance facing a tough hitting Berry Insurance Team.  Two hard hit balls in the top of the first showed Berry's hitting prowess as well as Keating's ability in field.  Noah Matalon led off with a hard shot to first base fielded by Keating's Josh Liebman (3U) and with one on and one out, Griffin Van Rye scorched a line drive to center field.  Seth Ehrlich's diving catch changed the inning as Berry was held to one run instead of a big first inning.

The bottom half of the first inning saw Keating push across 3 runs with a great lead off at bat from Aiden McGee, timely hitting from Andrew Skwiot (RBI Single to the fence) and overall plate patience and smart base running by Keating Batters facing a hard throwing Griffin Van Rye.

Keating Insurance would not relinquish the lead as Berry Insurance was unable to put together an inning with more than one run crossing the plate.  Berry scored in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Aidan Aube scoring Sam Musto who had singled to right and the 5th inning on an RBI single by Drew Wendorff.

The Middle Innings of the game provided for stellar pitching and defense from both teams.  Aiden McGee's hard line drive in the second inning was caught by Berry's Shortstop Noah Matalon on a diving play that should have had a sound bite from the booth. (ta da da - dadada) Keating's Jonny Robinson made 4 put outs in the final three innings from second base showing off great range and glove work.

Jacob Newbury's strong day at the plate (1.000 OBP and 2RBI) included what proved to be the game winning RBI on line drive double to left field.

This was a VERY WELL played game by both teams with only one fielding error per team and strong pitching performances by Keating's Starting Pitcher Andrew Skwiot (4IP, O ER and 6K's), Keating's Closer Tim Cotter who slammed the door in the last inning 123  (2IP, 4K's Save) as well as Berry Insurance Pitchers (Van Rye, Wendorff and Dease) combining for 10 strikeouts.

Harry’s Pizza 9, Rizzuto’s 8

With thunder booming over Fern Park, Harry's Pizza Thunder were true to their team name rallying back from 8-3 down in the bottom of the 6th inning for a dramatic walk off win over Rizzuto's.  This was a pitcher's duel early as Rizzuto's ace Landon Traverse (2 IP, 3 K's) allowed only one run and was matched by Harry's ace Jack Redmond (2 IP, 6 K's) who also allowed one run.  Rizzuto's then took control in the middle of the game scoring 2 runs in the 3rd and 5 runs in the 5th, while Finn McHugh allowed only 2 runs to make the score 8-3 heading into the 6th.  Harry's closer Peter Langevin held Rizzuto's scoreless in the 6th to give Harry's one last chance.  This time they took advantage keyed by a leadoff double from Nathan Gallo, a 2 RBI single from Anthony Mangini, and four straight walks from Trevor Tanis, Connor Mangini, Jamie Kennedy, and Jack Archambeault to tie the game 8-8.  Connor Mangini then scored the winning run with some nifty base running to steal home and win the game.

Harry's offense was led by Gallo (1 for 2, double, walk, run), John Schultz (2 for 2, 2 runs, walk), Anthony Mangini (2 RBI single), Tanis (2 BB, HBP, run), Connor Mangini (RBI, run), Dylan Albanese (1 for 1, run, walk), and Will Tonkinson (single).  Rizzuto's offense was led by Traverse (2 doubles, 2 RBI's), McHugh (3 walks, run), Logan Murphy (single), Camden Rancourt (walk, run), Ethan Raisner (single, run), Jacob Yontef-Mathog (walk, HBP, run), and Terrell St. Marthe (single, walk, HBP, run).  Harry's defense was led by strong catching from Anthony Mangini, Tanis, and Langevin and a nice play in the outfield from Albanese.  Rizzuto's defense was led by McHugh at 1B and Traverse at 1B and catcher.

Beachland Tavern Bandits 16, Dick’s Sporting Goods 2

The Beachland Tavern Bandits came out bashing early and often on a fine Mother's Day afternoon. Tavern pulled away from Goods by scoring five runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Daniel Moleti, and lead-off man Andrew Reicher, followed by an RBI single by Matt Santoro. Santoro would later swipe home.

Beachland Tavern's Declan McCann, Chuck Blanchard, Shane Bradley and James Old School Robinsion were all perfect at the dish, going a combined 13-13. Blanchard and Bradley smashed in 5 RBI.

Quinn Navin did his best to jumpstart the offense for Dick's Sporting Goods, reaching base three times and Dick's managed a sweet infield fly induced double play to fizzle a would-be Bandit rally.  Harry Nelson and Sam Sandler had a few hot hits and anchorman Adam Ezovski had a smash to right.

Beachland had seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Big Game James O'Connor was a stand-out, with a picture perfect bunt and hard knock on a 2-2 day. The Bandits never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on two singles.

On the hill, hurler Tommy Baldini made a stellar debut allowing just one hit over two. Reicher and McCann flashed the gloves on two sweet infield nabs as well.
