"Rage Against the Machines"

This is such an awesome mantra for the type of functional training that we
believe in at WIP Fitness, I wish I had coined it. This concept is spreading and I understand why.

This article in the New York Times illustrates why the functional training concept is more effective. Functional training provides better overall strength and mobility at a much higher calorie burn than traditional training typically done in a gym. Functional training lends itself to creating lean and athletic figures as opposed to highly muscular physiques, this image appeals to both men and women.

The article makes a great point that people spend all day at machines so why would they want to go to the gym and then sit in front of more machines. What the article doesn’t mention is that when you do functional training it is not the race against the clock that traditional training is. The time flies by and even though it is hard, it is also fun and reminiscent of being a kid. I think the physical benefits are as wonderful as the emotional benefits.

Come let us show you how fun and effective functional training can be with a FREE trial week at Work In Progress Fitness.  Come check out our boot camp classes in West Hartford today!
