Bugbee is one of 11 elementary schools in West Hartford. It serves neighborhoods mainly in the north-central part of town in grades K-5. The school, with more than 400 students, has two playgrounds, a baseball field and access to an adjacent wooded property with trails and streams. Bugbee, which opened in 1950, is named after Lloyd H. Bugbee, a former superintendent of West Hartford schools.
