Conard High School

Conard High School is one of two public high schools in West Hartford and serves primarily the south end of town. The school opened in 1957 and was named for Frederick Conard, who was the Board of Education chairman at the time of the school's planning. Conard was ranked as one of American's Best High Schools by Newsweek Magazine in 2010. It also ranks among the top schools in the state for the percentage of its students who take AP exams.
