Christina DeFranco, Neighbor
- Avon, CT
I'm the Environmental Contributor on Connecticut Public TV's All Things Connecticut, collecting "green" stories for the Treading Lightly segment. My stories have included everything from an innovative seaweed farm that is cleansing Long Island Sound to a break-through technology at Pratt & Whitney that is changing air travel to a tour of a gourmet chocolate shop that features vegan, gluten-free delights and counts several A-list stars as customers.
I've spent nearly two decades of my professional career in Connecticut broadcasting, reporting for WTNH and Fox, and now CPTV. I've also produced a series on energy efficiency (Empowering Connecticut) as well as documentaries on Children's Mental Health Care and Cheshire High's girls swim team that broke the national record for consecutive wins.
I live in Avon with my husband and 2 sons, Nick (14) and Daniel (12) and spend most of my free time shuttling kids to practice, pacing a sideline, or sitting on a bleacher somewhere in Connecticut.
