12th Annual ACS Relay For Life - 'Characters for a Cure'

Families and Friends gather together to "Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back."

Northwest Catholic High School was the host site for this year's American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Hartford. For nearly 24 hours, individuals, teams, survivors and caregivers walked to raise money to help find a cure for cancer. By the time the event is over, they will have raised over $100,000 through pledges and a variety of other fundraising activities.

"The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service." - ACS www.cancer.org
