A combination pet and garden supply business has opened for business in West Hartford.
Petals and Paws, an offshoot of the Canton store with the same name, opened its doors at 10 a.m. last Friday at 22 Raymond Rd. That's the site formerly occupied by another business with "paws" in its name – Wizard of Paws.
Petals and Paws had recently operated a second location in Avon Marketplace, but closed that a few weeks ago to open the West Hartford store. Manager Tom Lanfair, a longtime employee of the business, said they anticipated better traffic in the West Hartford location which is next to Whole Foods and convenient to the Center and Blue Back Square.
Petals and Paws sells pet food that is "organic, holistic with no fillers. No garbage," Lanfair said. They also sell pet toys and other supplies as well as plants and gardening necessities.
The original Petals and Paws in Canton also offers dog grooming, but Lanfair said there isn't space for that service in the West Hartford building.
