Why did you run for office?

As the daughter of two public school teachers and now the mom to two young children, I am running for Board of Education to ensure that our teachers receive the support they need so all of our children receive a quality education and our town continues to thrive.

If elected, what would be your primary areas of focus?

I will focus on the implementation of the common core standards, the construction and marketing of the new Charter Oak School, expanding access to quality pre-k, and ensuring open communication between schools and families.

What do you feel is the biggest issue facing West Hartford today?
I think we should always be aware of and focused on closing the achievement gap and ensuring that all West Hartford children receive a quality education. What skills do you have that you could bring to the community?
I am a great listener and collaborator and have experience as a community organizer and advocate. These skills help me to engage people in the policy process, taking their interests, ideas, and experiences and translating that into effective policy solutions.
