CitySingers of Hartford presents Glad Tidings!

CitySingers of Hartford presents Glad Tidings! with traditional
songs of  joy and  peace for the holiday season.  A
voluntary offering will be gratefully received.

In a season of celebration and goodwill,
CitySingers of Hartford brings to our listeners Tidings of Joy in
exhilarating arrangements accompanied by suspended bells, flute, oboe, harp,
pipe organ and percussion – Tidings of Comfort in familiar carols from
around the world, with an invitation for audience participation – and Tidings
of Peace
in motets from the 16th-20th centuries that
have uplifting and timeless messages. The program will include works by J. P.
Sweelinck, Morten Lauridsen, John Tavener and G. F. Handel, as well as choral
settings of traditional Welsh, French, German and English carols.
