Featured Speaker: Daoud Nassar - Passionate About Peacemaking

Westminster Presbyterian Church is offering a new program where we meet together for a special education program for all ages followed by dinner. These evenings to “eat, pray and learn” together will offer the opportunity for fellowship and spiritual growth at an alternative time.

October’s featured speaker, Daoud Nassar, is a Palestinian Christian Farmer whose family works its 100-acre farm and orchard near Bethlehem, Palestine. There they strive to maintain a haven of peace and brother/sisterhood through Tent of Nations, a dynamic peace and local education center established by the Nassar family in 2000. International visitors, including many Israelis, join together to plant trees, harvest olives and fruit, teach at the Women’s Education Center, lead activities in Youth Summer Camps and join in solidarity and shared goals of a just peace through non-violent activities.  Daoud has travelled to the U.S. on 13 occasions, speaking at numerous churches and universities.

Daoud will preach at the 4:30 p.m. service and will give a presentation at 5:15 p.m. Special activities focusing on peacemaking will be held during this time for the younger children and nursery care will also be provided.  All ages are welcome and we hope all can attend.

4:30 – 5:15 p.m. – Worship in the chapel featuring Daoud Nassar
5:15 – 6:15 p.m. – Presentation and special activities
6:15 – 6:45 p.m. – Simple dinner together
(there will be soup, drinks and pita pockets provided, bring stuffings for pita pockets like cheese, lettuce, humus, meat, vegetables, etc.)
