Swim, Bark & Run at the Mandell JCC’s 2nd Annual Doggie Dash/Duathlon; Sunday, September 8, 2013

Leash up, lace up and swim, bark, and run at the Mandell
JCC’s 2nd Annual Doggie Dash/Duathlon on Sunday, September 8, 2013
from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Mandell JCC’s summer site,
The Swim & Tennis Club, 4 Duncaster Road, Bloomfield, CT. A portion of
event proceeds will go to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation and the Connecticut
Humane Society.



From 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be a free expo
featuring representatives from various nonprofit and for-profit pet vendors,
which is open to the community. From 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., dogs will leash up
with their owner for a 1.5-mile walk/run, followed by the option for dogs to
swim the width of the pool. Doggie Dash/Dauthlon participants will receive an
event t-shirt for all humans and a doggie bag filled with treats for both team
members.



Additional and new components of this year’s Doggie
Dash/Duathlon include: an open swim for dogs only, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.; a
doggie talent show at 2:00 p.m.; a best-dressed dog contest at 2:30 p.m.; and
an owner/dog look-alike contest at 3:00 p.m.

Fees for the 2nd Annual Doggie Dash/Duathlon vary
by event participation. To register for the Doggie Dash/Duathlon, call the
Member Services Center, 860-236-4571. For questions and more information,
